Český Krumlov

Welcome to Český Krumlov, a picturesque historic town stretching along the meandering Vltava River. Explore the narrow streets, gems of Gothic architecture, and unique atmosphere of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Don’t forget to visit the imposing Český Krumlov Castle, which dominates the town and offers magnificent views of the surrounding area.

With children, we recommend visiting the mirror maze and taking a walk through the places where famous Czech fairy tales were filmed (e.g., a sightseeing walk through the corners of Anděl Páně 2).

In case of bad weather, in addition to the mirror maze, the interior of the Krumlov Castle is also worth a visit.

Kleť

If you would like to take a nice trip with beautiful views, we recommend climbing Kleť (1084 m above sea level). It is not directly visible from Family Apartments Černice (you need to drive to the Český Krumlov / Holubov area), but it is definitely worth a visit as the end point of your trip. From the lower station of the cable car in Krasetín or from the car park in Holubov, you can take the route directly below the cable car – it is the shortest, but quite demanding. The second option is a more leisurely route, going around the mountain and passing several stops on the nature trail, with a length of about 5 km. If you don’t want to make the challenging climb, you can take the chairlift from Krasetín to Kleť.

It is a great walk with children and dogs. At the top, you can visit the oldest stone lookout tower in Bohemia with an amazing view. If you are lucky, you will see as far as the Alps. There is a traditional restaurant right below the lookout tower. We recommend stopping here for lunch and homemade lemonade, local beer, tea, or mulled wine.
